PURPOSE
The purpose of this fundraiser is to create awareness about autoimmune diseases among teens/youth in the greater
Seattle Area. All net proceeds will be donated to two local charities; Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) & Lupus
Foundation of America - Pacific NW Chapters, to contribute towards heightening awareness of these diseases. These selected

CROHN'S DISEASE
Crohn’s disease is a debilitating gastrointestinal (GI) illness in
which the body’s immune system attacks healthy cells in the GI tract. This is a chronic disorder that causes inflammation of
the digestive or gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Although it can involve any area of the GI tract from the mouth to the anus, it
most commonly affects the small intestine and/or colon.
LUPUS
Lupus is an autoimmune disease that can effect various parts of the body including skin, joints,
and internal organs. Lupus can effect both men and women, but it is eight times as likely in women. It can also occur at any
age, but the typical age range for someone to get Lupus is ten to fifty. Lupus is a disease that turns the body’s defenses
against the body itself and occurs when antibodies attack the healthy cells in the body.
